Attention fellow problem solvers … we need to stop fixing problems and do this instead!
Let me explain …
I don’t know about you, but I take pride in being a problem solver. It’s part of my identity. It’s who I am.
Part of it is that my primary love language is acts of service. Part is that fixing things is a fulfilling affirmation of my ability to do so. It fuels my sense of self-worth.
Sometimes, More than the Problem Needs to Be Fixed
And yet today’s video is a great reminder that sometimes we don’t really need to fix the problem, we need to fix our thinking … our attitude and how we respond to the problem.
There also are times when we need to just put the problem on pause for a moment so we can tackle it from a calm, proactive state rather than a chaotic, reactive one.

I’ve been guilty of jumping too quickly into problem solving mode. I go right to the immediate solution rather than pausing and allowing time for the best solution to come to me.
How to Hit Pause Before Jumping In and Fixing Problems
Here’s the mantra that Louise Hay shared in the video:
All is well. Everything’s working out for my highest good. And out of this experience, only good will come. And I am safe.
Say it out loud. It feels good, right?
That’s because it calms our fight-or-flight response that demands we find a solution to the problem RIGHT NOW. At the same time, it opens us to more possibilities.
I suggest saving it as a note in your phone or in a document on your computer desktop (or BOTH!) so you have it readily accessible when you need it.
Now, to be clear, I’m not advocating for avoiding our problems and never fixing them.
We still need to fix our problems. Both personal and professional. At home and at work.
But giving yourself this pause just might help you find better solutions so that the fix is even better.
