Need to get more done? With the 3 Cs of productivity, it’s easier than ever to focus on what’s most important.

You know those times when you just can’t seem to move forward or get things done?

If you’re like me, you may feel stressed or overwhelmed. Maybe you procrastinate, or you might fill your schedule with things that keep you “busy” but that aren’t especially important in the big picture of your goals.

I’ve found that when this happens to me it’s most often because I’m not clear about what my next steps should be. Same with the people I’ve mentored and coached. And I bet it’s true for you, too.

And that’s why I found Amy Landino’s advice in today’s video so empowering.

The 3 Cs: Clarity + Confidence + Control

Like with almost everything, CLARITY is the first step to getting things done.

Amy’s three steps to gain clarity are:

  1. Write down what’s bugging you right now. (the problem)
  2. Write down your intended successful outcome. (the solution)
  3. Write down the next physical action step toward your outcome. (the to do)

I like these because they’re practical and effective. I’m also a big fan and believer in the power of putting pen to paper and writing things down. So I appreciate that she specifies writing as being integral to the process.

Next, there’s a CONFIDENCE that comes from making a plan and knowing what to do next. You’re not just winging it and hoping for the best. You’re following a carefully thought-out plan.

And then you can CONTROL the process of your continuing next steps through your project/task organization and system for productivity.

I do this in writing in my Full Focus Planner in conjunction with my Google calendar and Google tasks. Whatever your system is, there’s an important fourth C … CONSISTENCY.

Crucial 4th C: Consistency

Productivity isn’t a one and done thing. It takes ongoing intentional effort to maintain your success. It takes consistency.

I’ve found consistency within the habit of prioritizing my weekly and daily tasks. I also regularly review my goals and plan action steps with deadlines.

You can, too. I share my system for productivity in my Win WFH program. Click here to check it out!
