What would you do if you knew you wouldn’t fail?
You’ve probably heard the question before … I certainly have, many times … but today’s video puts the question into a different perspective. One that I found incredibly valuable as a means of setting meaningful goals while also setting the stage to achieve them.
Really, the idea of identifying the “right” goals to focus on using the “genie test” is genius.
I have lots of things I want to accomplish both at work and in life. I learned to prioritize the most important one thing by asking, “What, by doing it, will make everything else easier and/or more likely to happen?” I learned that from The ONE Thing by Gary Keller.
And that strategy has served me well for prioritizing tasks.
The genie test, however, is even more proactive and helps ensure that what you choose to do with your time and energy – your ONE thing and anything else – aligns with your true purpose in life.
When you set Genie Wish Goals, you have that alignment, and you truly set yourself up for success.
Why Genie Wish Goals Empower Success
Here’s why, according to Graham Weaver in today’s video:
- You Show Up Differently
- You Remove All Unnecessary Distractions
- You’re More Likely to Persist Until You Achieve the Goal
The genie goal gets you in touch with what your heart knows about what you really want … your true purpose. It silences the voice in your head that tries to sabotage you with fear and doubt and limiting beliefs.
Identify Your Genie Wish then Set Milestone Goals to Empower Success Along the Way
So take just a minute right now (don’t overthink it) and ask yourself this:
“What would I wish for if I knew success was guaranteed?”
Then, ask this follow-up question:
“Am I working toward my big audacious life genie goal right now? What can I do this month, this quarter … as a smaller milestone genie goal … that will keep me moving forward to achieving it?”
Finally, set your Genie Wish Goal to empower success this Q4 … and see for yourself how much of an impact it makes both now and going forward into the new year.
