3 Keys to Prepping for a Successful 2025

It’s that time of year again … everyone’s talking about setting goals as they begin prepping for a successful 2025. But let me be clear: I’m not here to talk about goal-setting today.

Why?

Because setting goals is pointless if you don’t first create the condition that makes achieving them possible. And that condition is an unwavering belief that you can do it.

Without belief, your goals are just wishful thinking.

With belief, though? You’ll show up, put in the work, and push through when things get tough. You’ll stay the course because you know deep down you’re capable of succeeding.

So, how do you build that belief?

The process can look different for each person, but listen to Olympic gold medalist Erica Wiebe’s story …

Inspiring, right?

And you can take the same strategies that helped Erica in her quest for an eventual Olympic gold medal in wrestling and use them to fuel your own success.

3 Keys to Prepping for a Successful 2025

1. Self-Talk

What you tell yourself matters. Every thought you repeat reinforces a belief, so let’s make those beliefs empowering. Start with simple affirmations you can say to yourself daily. Here are some to consider:

  • I am calm.
  • I am focused.
  • I am powerful.
  • I am confident.
  • I am worthy.
  • I am ready.

Even if it feels awkward at first, stick with it. Over time, these words will become part of your internal dialogue, shaping how you see yourself.

2. Visualization

Your mind is a powerful tool, so use it. Visualize two things:

  • The outcome: Picture what success looks like in 2025. What are you doing? How does it feel?
  • Overcoming obstacles: Imagine challenges that might arise, and visualize yourself handling them with confidence. This prepares your brain to take action, even when things don’t go as planned.

3. Breathing

Your breath is a secret weapon. You can use it to center yourself, calm your nerves, or fuel your energy.

  • For grounding: Try slow, deep breaths (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4).
  • For energy: Practice quick, forceful exhales through the nose to fire up your system.

Breathing connects your body and mind, helping you stay present and intentional in the moment.

When you combine these three keys — self-talk, visualization, and intentional breathing — and practice them daily, you create a rock-solid foundation for success.

You’ll not only believe in your ability to achieve your goals but also approach them with clarity, focus, and resilience.

And isn’t that exactly the kind of energy you want to carry into 2025? Let’s make it your best year yet!
